Paul Barton comes from an artisitic family with both parents being amateur artists and in fact, Paul studied art and architecture before lack of funds forced an early withdrawal and a complete career change.
Paul is a past Chairman, a past webmaster and a past Assistant Newsletter Editor of the Woodworkers' Association of NSW.
As a woodworker, Paul is almost completely self taught with the only formal training coming from six months at the ill-fated evening classes in Furniture Design at Lidcombe TAFE. Lack of student numbers caused this course to fold in 2000.
Paul has a distinct preference for Australian timbers but is not averse to using imported timbers if the occasion arises. Paul concentrates on domestic furniture pieces and small boxes.
