This Coffee Table is made from Australian Red Cedar and has an Ebony Inlay around the tabletop with highlights of Indian Rosewood in the mitres on the top and on the front and sides of the four legs. The top has been French Polished and the legs and frame have been given a good coat of Shellac. It is a table that is well proportioned and a pleasure to touch and feel.

This bowl has been carved from a “Myrtle Burl” sprayed with pre-cat lacquer and then highly polished. it resembles “Uluru” and has industrial felt on the bottom to avoid scratching of a table.

Huon pine. The pentagram figure (5-pointed star) dates to pre-4000 BCE on cave walls of Uruku, Mesopotamia. It is the apparent mathematical source, in the isosceles triangle of each point of the star, of the golden mean.

Centre of burl carved out, the edge profile inspired by escarpments of the Blue Mountains. Outer surface left in its deeply indented natural form. Cedar base carved and stained.

The cedar was recovered from old house fittings by a European cabinetmaker who came to Australia in the 1950s, and passed on to the maker by his granddaughter.
