Course Overview
Description
In woodworking the verb ‘finishing’ is applied to the process of protecting and enhancing your finished woodworking project. Do it wrong and your work is ruined. Applying these protective products is a detailed and intricate process.
Many professional woodworkers outsource finishing to those for who this is their entire profession.
This course will be presented by one of Sydney’s best known furniture conservators and restorers. Nik will demonstrate a range of finishing processes that participants will also apply to a large sample board that they will keep for future reference.
Instruction will be given in the application of both solvent and water base finishes and there will be discussions of the advantages and disadvantages of the different available products.
Participants will leave with enhanced knowledge of finishing and a sample board for reference in future projects.
