Course Overview
This course will introduce you to the basics of box making. From here you will be able to move on to more advanced techniques and design if you choose but for now my hope is that you will gain a solid understanding of the basic principles of box making and produce a box that is both useful and aesthetically pleasing.
The course covers the making of a simple box with mitred corners, fitted linings & “lift-off” lid. Cutting and dressing of materials will be demonstrated but the box making timbers available for your use are pre machined to a finished thickness of 10mm for sides and 3-5mm thick for the base, top & linings.
Materials Provided
Timber, tools and consumables to create your box.
What To Bring
An apron to cover clothing, dust mask, lunch.
Safety
Please wear sturdy footwear, shoes with leather uppers preferred.
